Whether you’re heading off-grid or just trying to beat the summer heat on your next adventure, this duo delivers the perfect mix of power, efficiency, and convenience. So, why settle for just a fan or an AC when you can have both?
The Dometic RTX 2000 - A Beast in the Van AC World
The Dometic RTX 2000 12V Air Conditioner is built for the modern van lifer. With a powerful 6,824 BTUs of cooling power, this unit can handle the sweltering heat without draining your battery. The variable-speed inverter compressor ensures you get maximum cooling while using as little power as possible. It's ultra-quiet too, so you can enjoy the breeze without the constant hum of a typical air conditioner.
Let’s talk efficiency: this AC only uses 19 amps in Eco mode, meaning you can run it for up to 12 hours on a 12V battery, making it perfect for off-grid setups. Say goodbye to sleepless nights sweating it out in your van!
Plus, it’s compact and roof-mounted, leaving plenty of room for your solar panels, gear storage, or that rooftop tent you’ve been eyeing. Whether you're chilling in the mountains or parked by the beach, the Dometic RTX 2000 will keep you comfortable no matter where the road takes you.
Key Features:
- Powerful 6,824 BTU cooling capacity (Dometic RTX 2000)
- Up to 12 hours runtime on a single charge
- Eco mode uses only 19 amps of power
- Turbo mode for quick cooling
- Super quiet (<70dBA) operation for undisturbed sleep
- Compact dimensions: 33.86" (W) x 25.39" (D) x 12.13" (H)
The MaxxFan 7500K - Van Life Ventilation Hero
What’s an air conditioner without a fan to complement it? The MaxxFan 7500K is the Swiss Army knife of van fans. Whether you need to vent out cooking smoke, bring in fresh air, or keep things circulating, this fan has got you covered.
With 10 speeds, this fan can move 900 cubic feet per minute (CFM) of air—enough to keep things cool and fresh no matter the conditions. It’s reversible too, so you can choose whether to pull fresh air in or push stale air out.
The thermostat control means the fan will automatically adjust to your desired temperature, while the remote control lets you kick back and relax without needing to manually adjust the settings.
Key Features:
- 10-speed fan with remote control
- Can pull air in or push air out
- Fits standard 14" x 14" roof openings
- Thermostat control to maintain ideal cabin temperature
- Electric lid opening, also operable manually
Why You Need Both:
Combining the Dometic RTX 2000 and the MaxxFan 7500K in your van build means total climate control, regardless of where you park. Run the fan to vent out warm air during the day, or crank up the AC on hot summer nights. This pairing is perfect for anyone serious about comfortable van life, no matter the season or destination.
