These stainless steel brackets are intended to be direct replacements for your (rusty!) original luggage rack mounting brackets.
If you haven't removed your luggage rack in a few years, you'll be amazed at how much junk makes its way through the little drain holes and ends up lodged between the fiberglass rack and the roof top. All this leaf litter and debris does a great job of trapping moisture and rusting out your mounting brackets. If you experience bracket failure, you risk not only losing your luggage rack out on the highway, but anything you have stored up there, too! So get in there, clean it all out, wax the paint, replace your seals and pop in a fresh set of brackets. This area is often overlooked, but shouldn't be neglected. It is an easy enough project, so get after it!
